photography training: gaze, space and territory

Photography is not only a technical matter nor a sequence of aesthetically pleasing images. It is a tool to understand and interpret space, territory and the identity of places.

The training I offer is based on this idea and on continuous practice in real environments: villages, neighbourhoods, areas of scenic, heritage or ethnographic value, transforming spaces, architecture lived on a daily basis. The aim is to help develop a conscious, rigorous and meaningful way of seeing, both for those who approach photography from a personal or cultural interest, and for those who need to apply it to specific professional projects.

The workshops and photographic walks I propose combine practice, reflection and visual analysis, always adapting to the context, the audience and the objectives of each activity. These are not “off-the-shelf” activities: each proposal is designed with the place and the people who will experience it in mind.

In the case of architecture and space photography workshops, the approach is primarily practical, combining an initial theoretical foundation with on-location shooting and a complete image editing and export process, designed for professional application.

Introductory workshops and photographic walks

(narrative and conceptual training)

These workshops and walks are designed for those who want to learn how to look, understand photography as a language and develop visual judgement beyond the use of the camera. We work with territory and everyday spaces as raw material, so that participants leave seeing their surroundings in a different way.

We will work on aspects such as:

✔️ Observation and reading of space

✔️ Natural light and its relationship with territory

✔️ Composition and image intention

✔️ Photography as narrative and experience

This is hands-on training with a reflective approach, aimed at people with a cultural interest in photography, photography enthusiasts or groups seeking a more conscious and honest approach to images, far from the easy postcard.

Aimed at:

✔️ Adult general public

✔️ Cultural groups

✔️ Local councils and institutions

✔️ Associations and groups interested in territory and landscape

Response within 24–48 hours.

Architecture and space photography workshops

(practical training with professional impact)

If you coordinate training in schools, universities or professional institutions, you know that it is not enough to “fill hours”: you need workshops that match the level of the centre and the profile of the participants.

This training line is aimed at those who need to apply photography to professional projects, especially in architecture, interior design and built spaces. The focus is not on quick tricks, but on understanding how to photograph a space with intention, considering its function, its relationship with the environment and the message it needs to convey.

The workshops cover aspects such as:

✔️ Reading and interpreting architectural projects

✔️ Use of natural and artificial light indoors and outdoors

✔️ Composition applied to architecture

✔️ Photography for portfolios, websites and publications

In all cases, we follow a simple and effective structure:

✔️ A theoretical part to organise concepts and references

✔️ A practical part, where we go out to photograph and apply what has been learned

✔️ An editing and review part, where we analyse the images, discuss decisions and close the process

This is practical, rigorous training focused on real results, without gimmicks or universal formulas, designed so that you can trust the outcome when you put your name—or your institution’s—behind it.

Aimed at:

✔️ Photographers undergoing professionalisation

✔️ Architects and designers

✔️ Advanced students

✔️ Art schools and training centres

✔️ Professional associations and institutions

Response within 24–48 hours.

Training adapted to each context

Each training activity is specifically designed taking into account:

✔️ The profile of the audience

✔️ Duration and format

✔️ The objectives of the organisation or group

✔️ The territorial or architectural context

Content can be adapted to one-day sessions, longer workshops, photographic walks or training activities integrated into cultural or educational programmes. The idea is that the format adapts to your needs, without losing depth or respect for the place.

Every space, every territory and every project has something to tell.
Photography can be the tool to understand it and communicate it with rigour.

If you are interested in organising a workshop, walk or training activity, feel free to get in touch to discuss a proposal adapted to your needs.
